Soccer Foes Story 4 Part Three

Shane's POV:

I instantly pull away from Becca the moment that she kisses me.

"Becca, what the fuck?" I ask her as I step away from her for distance. God, I hope that Bailey did not just see that.

"Whoa I was not expecting that to happen. Am I missing something here?" Alex asks with a grin as he comes to stands next to me. I roll my eyes. Why does he have to always be so damn nosy?

"No! Becca, why'd you kiss me?" I ask her while glancing around to see if I could spot my little babe anywhere. I don't see Bailey with her group of friends, so she either had left earlier to go back to her cabin or she saw the kiss and left. I really hope it's the first choice but I have a dreadful feeling that it's the latter. That would be too easy.

"Because Shane I was trying to get your attention" Becca says with a smirk as she walks up to me and runs her hand down my chest; or tries to anyway. I step away from her again.

"My attention? What kind of attention involves you kissing me?" I ask her as I roll my eyes. I'm pretty sure I know what she is trying to do.

"Okay so it may seem sort of desperate but I've been trying to get you interested in me again for the past three weeks. You weren't noticing any of my previous hints at all" Becca says with an angry pout. Oh great. Here we go again.

"How many times do I have to tell you that we are never getting back together. Ever" I say emphasizing the ever part. It's been over six months since our breakup and I have no desire to rekindle it.

"Why? Is it because you’re with that troublemaker now? And don't you dare deny it either. I've seen you two together outside of practice a lot this past week" My ex tells me as she folds her arms together and gives me a smug look. I narrow my eyes at her. She's really pissing me off right now. Beside me, Alex drops his mouth in shock.

"You hooked up with someone and you didn't even tell me?" He says with a look of betrayal on his face. I roll my eyes and choose to ignore him.

"So you've been spying on me? Nice Becca" I tell her with sarcasm laced through my voice. Yeah, she's done some pretty sketchy things in the past but this is a new low; even for her.

"Don't act like I'm the crazy one here. How can you date someone like Bailey? You can do so much better" Becca tells me. Oh please, don't give me that. I make sure that my face doesn't give off that her words are getting to me. Just because she is jealous doesn't give her a right to think Bailey is beneath her. My baby is far, far from that.

"Your with Bailey now?!? Dude, I'm your best friend. How could you keep this from me? I should have been the first to know!" Alex says sounding hurt that I did not mention that I'm with Bailey now. Speaking of which, I got to go find her. I'm pretty sure she saw Becca and I's kiss unfortunately. Who knows how long it will take for me to convince her that it was all Becca fault and a huge mistake? She'll probably accuse me of being cliché. Again, I roll my eyes.

"Dude, don't take it so personally. We just wanted to keep it between ourselves until the camp ended" I say to calm him down. Did it work? Nope, of course not.

"So what? I can keep a secret man" Alex says still offended.

"Stop it Alex. You can barely keep a secret. You have to admit that you sort of have a big mouth" Spencer tells him. Sort of? That's the understatement of the year.

"That's so not true and you don't seem very surprised of the news......did you already know?" Alex asks him getting even more upset. Spencer just shrugs. Thanks Spencer, you could have said no. It will save us all from hearing Alex bitch about it for weeks. Alex narrows his eyes at him.

"Okay who else knew about this already?" Alex asks looking around at the rest of us. There were about eleven leaders still here. No one raised their hand until Emily, one of Becca's friends, raised her hand and said,

"Well I did and I just have to say that I agree with Becca. You can totally do so much better than Bailey, Shane."

You know, I never did like Emily.

"Whatever, Emily. You don't even know Bailey personally" P. K. says defending my girlfriend. That's right. My boys got my back.

"Like you do?" Emily says back to him in a pose matching Becca's.

"No but Shane says that she is pretty chill and..." P. K. tells her but stops talking when he notices Alex staring at him.

"You knew too? How did P. K. know before me? How is that even possible?" Alex says flinging his arms in the air in astonishment. P. K. looks offended by his comment and then argues with Alex about how he can keep a secret unlike how Alex can. Spencer and a few other of our buddies get into an argument with Emily and some of Becca's friends about how judgmental and hypocritical they are. There are arguments happening all around me. If it were under different circumstances, I would actually find it kind of funny.

"See the mess you caused Becca. This wouldn't be happening right now if you hadn't have kissed me" I tell her shaking my head and start to walk toward the wooded trails. I really need to get out of here and find Bailey. I didn't make it very far because Becca had come to stand in front of me.

"It's MY fault? It's yours actually. If you didn't keep secrets then no one would be arguing right now" she says. I knew she would somehow blame me. It's never Becca's fault.

"Don't get it twisted, Becca. It's not my fault, it's yours. If you had minded your own business, no one would even know I was seeing Bailey" I say and we continued to argue with each other for a good ten minutes. We all probably would have continued on like this too if a high-pitched whistle had not been blown by the fire. All of us instantly turned toward where the sound came from and was greeted by a furious camp director with five soaking wet campers behind her; one of which was Bailey.
