Bailey’s POV:
“Well to say I’m
shocked is an understatement. I’m appalled by what I just walked onto tonight.
Between campers on the other side of camp fight in the lake or finding the
leaders of this camp arguing like crazy, I’m not sure which one is worse. What
I do know is that both things are unacceptable; especially since it is near the
end of camp. I was hoping to end on a high note, but that will not be the case
after tonight. Luna will you please bring the wet campers and the other campers
back to their cabins? I’ll figure out the best way to handle their situation
first thing in the morning. But first I need to have a word with these leaders
here now” Ms. Fey says with an ominous tone. Ms. Barbie actually has a serious
side to her. If I weren’t standing right behind her, I wouldn’t have believed
it myself. I looked past her to see Shane and notice that he is already looking
at me. I quickly look elsewhere. Damn him. My chest hurts when I look at him
cliché as that sounds. However, the image of Becca and him kissing is still
fresh on my mind. That what got me into this mess tonight. I wish I could erase
it from my memory forever. Now that would be a cool invention. Instead of
something pointless; like umbrella shoes or something like that. That’s
actually a real thing by the way. No lie.
“Come on
guys, let’s go” Luna tells us. Morgan is still here and she is quickly by my
side as we head back to our cabins. She’s looking at me strangely.
“You and
Shane are together?” she asks me with wide eyes and disbelief. What the… How
did she know that?
“Where did
you find that out?” I ask her. I guess the cats out of the bag now. Emma
hurries to my other side.
“Yo, you
missed a lot before you arrived with the camp director. The leaders were
practically screaming at each other; especially Shane and Becca. That’s how
everyone found out about you two. Where’d you go anyway? And why are you all
wet?” Emma asks looking me up and down. I rolled my eyes.
“Kicking
butt” I say and leave it at that. I don’t feel like explaining how I
practically died by Reddy and his evil minions.
“What?”
Morgan asks with confusion as we reach our rooms.
“I’ll tell
you about it in the morning” I say as Luna tells us to get ready for bed.
Speaking about Luna, she was with Ms. Barbie when she found us on the dock.
When I reach my bed, I quickly grab my pajamas and shower gear and head to the
showers. I make sure to give Paris a glare and bump my shoulder with hers on my
way out. I didn’t feel like being questioned further by Morgan about the whole
Shane situation. Especially since I have no idea where we are at the moment. He
kissed Becca, his ex girlfriend. Who does he think he is? Fresh tears start to
stream down my face. I can’t believe I’m crying over him. Be strong Bailey.
He’s not worth it. But, of course, my body betrays me. What is new? I just want
this stupid camp to be over with already.
The Next Morning:
“This is just great. Thanks to you we are getting kicked out
of camp” Paris yells at me once we are outside of Ms. Barbie’s makeshift
office to discuss what happened last night. Let me fill you in on what’s
happened so far this very eventful morning. When I woke up, I was instantly
bombarded with questions from Morgan about last night and my relationship with
Shane. Or whatever is left of it anyway. I’m not sure where we are at after I
saw him smacking lips with Becca. Anyways, I just grunted at her. Look, I don’t
know about anyone else but I am not a morning person. Even after almost a month
at this camp, I am still not use to waking up at the crack of dawn. So Morgan
should know me by now. I mean, seriously. If the questioning was not enough,
Leah stopped me as I was heading out to breakfast to inform me that I had an
immediate meeting with the camp director. Oh joy. I was met with Paris, Nicole,
Reddy, and his BFF. At that point, I was pretty much over the whole situation.
Ms. Barbie talked to each of us one by one to hear our side of the story. I
told her how one of them almost droned me and I was only defending myself
against them. Hey, that was pretty much the whole truth minus some details. It
was self-defense, I tell you. After I got finished with my account, I wasn’t
sure if she believed me or not, considering I was the last to go. I figured I
was so screwed. There was four of them and one of me. You do the math. However,
I guess the soccer angels helped me out because something amazing happened. I
didn’t get in trouble…that much. Turns out someone saw the whole thing play out
last night and told the director about it. Also, some of the leaders vouched
for me and said how Reddy and his clique have caused problems for me and other
campers during the last few weeks. Hmmm, I wonder who that could be? Just
kidding, I have a pretty good idea who it probably was. I’m not slow you guys,
I swear. In any case, Ms. Barbie said their stories did not match up together
at all and based on these facts, they would have to leave camp
immediately. They missed the ball
on that one. If you are trying to save your asses, then get your stories
straight. Sheesh, that was a total rookie mistake; just saying. So their
parents were called to come get them by the end of the day. But like I said
earlier, I still got into a little bit of trouble for physically fighting with
them even if I was defending myself. Therefore I have to help with cleanup
after meals for the rest of the week. I guess it’s not the worst punishment. At
least my butt is still in tact.
“Please. You did this all on your own. Don’t blame me.
However, I have to say that you will not be missed. Soooo…bye!” I say to her
with fake enthusiasm with a wave as I head toward the dining hall. Bailey: One.
Paris: a big fat zero. Ha! As soon as I walk into the hall, Morgan greets me.
“So what happened? Are you in trouble? Do you have to
leave?” she asks me in a single breath. Again with the questioning, Morgan?
“Calm down. I wouldn’t be here if I had to leave right?” I
tell her wit ha smile and an eye roll. Jazzy and Emma walk up to us too.
“So what did happen then? And what about the bully
brigade?” Emma asks me. Jazzy remains quiet since we haven’t said much to each
other since the fainting episode. Someone who shall remain nameless until
further notice said that I am too stubborn for my own good and should let go of
my grudge against Jazzy. After all, she was just looking out for me. I’ll admit
that I can be a little stubborn at times but I am not that stubborn. Right…?
“They’re out. They have to leave today. I just have to help
with clean up after meals. So its not too bad” I tell them and fill them in on
what else happened during the meeting and last night.
“Well good riddance! They should have been kicked out a long
time ago” Morgan says as we finish eating our breakfast. I couldn’t agree
more.
“So have you seen Shane this morning?” Morgan asks me with a
sly smirk. I roll my eyes. Why does she keep bugging me about him? Up until this point, I put him to
the back of my mind. I can only focus on one thing at a time. Whoever said that
girls are great at multi-tasking obviously have never met me. It’s a curse
honestly.
“No, I haven’t and I don’t want to talk about him right now.
Okay? Now I have to go start my “punishment” I tell them as I get up.
“You wont be able to avoid him forever. What about practice
today and for the rest of the week?” Jazzy asks me. I roll my eyes. I’m
surprised my eyes haven’t rolled out of my head with the amount of times I’ve
done it today. Wait, can that actually happen?
“I know that, but you know I’m still going to try” I say
with a huff and head towards the kitchen area.
I was almost convinced you had stopped writing! I have been following you since you had an account on youtube a looong time ago. I don't want to ask too much but if don't mind, how old are you now? Just out of curiosity. Thanks for updating!
