Scratched

“Oh my god, Eric. She's gonna die!” I say while clutching my stuffed giraffe that Eric got for me.
“Nah, I think it will be her sister. It's so obvious with the ominous music going on” Eric says. We’re currently watching a moving in his dorm room. You know, the usual cheesy made for TV movie. But dang, do they draw you in. The drama is sooo INTENSE.
“What if the music is just to trick us? Like nothing is actually going to happen or if both the mom and his sister gets poison or something like that?” I tell him, not taking my eyes away from the screen. It's so going to be a trick to let the viewers think something bad is going to happen and then BAM another murder happens before our eyes.
“With how corny this movie is, I wouldn't be surprised” he says, rolling his eyes with a grin.
“Well what do you expect with a name like ‘lovers for eternity’?” I ask him with a laugh.
“I know. We always get sucked into these things, don't we?” Eric asks me. We so do. It's like a bad hair day fiasco and you can't look away no matter what. Really similar to the girl who lives two rooms down from me and Lily. That girl needs a stylist, pronto! I nod my head as I snuggle closer to Eric on his bed. I totally love rainy afternoons where I can just chill with him. The downside is that there is never anything good on TV at this time. Hence why we’re stuck watching a sad lovers quarrel where each person has a ton of baggage. Apparently because the couple is so strong, they will get through this. Even though people are dropping like flies around them.
“See! I was right. They tried to be mysterious and killed them both” I say watching an unknown figure start a fire that traps the characters inside while they sleep. Why is it always a fire? We continue to watch the screen when Eric’s phone vibrates. I wonder who that is?
“Who is it?” I ask as I try to see what his screen says. You already know that I'm nosey as hell. Heehee.
“It's Adrian. He’s letting me know what time we're leaving Friday” Eric says as he types a reply back. What! Say it isn't so.
“Leaving? We are you going?” I ask sitting up to look at him with concern. Don't tell me he's leaving me alone for the weekend. Wait… this might work out in my favor. My butt will be FREEEEE! I can get away with anything. Well, maybe get away from anything anyways. Let me just be happy in my little bubble away from reality for just a second, okay!
“Remember I'm not going to be here this weekend. Me and a few of the guys are helping Adrian’s grandparents move to an assisted living house” Eric tells me. So it's true.
“So when are you leaving and when are you coming back?” I ask, moving onto my stomach to look at him better.
“We’re leaving Friday evening and coming back Sunday afternoon” Eric replied. That's like two days. It’ll feel like an eternity for me. How will I ever survive without constant hugs or cuddles?
“Why didn't you tell me earlier? Now I have to prepare myself?” I tell him.
“I did tell you. I mentioned to you last week during lunch. I think you were a little preoccupied with your food though” he says with a snort and an eye roll. Ohhh yeah. Now that he mentions it, I do vaguely remember him saying something about it but I was more interested in my lunch. He should know better than to say anything important when I'm stuffing my face with food. It was also nacho day. So of course I was into those chips a lot more. There are very few things that the dining hall makes that's actually considered edible. Trust me on that.
“And what do you mean you have to prepare yourself? Prepare yourself for what?” He asks with a grin.
“I need to prepare myself mentally. Like seriously. I have to get myself ready to be alone” I tell him. I'm not even exaggerating either.
“Prepare yourself mentally? Like how exactly?” Eric asks, trying not to laugh.
“I have to imagine that you're not going to be here one second and then the next you’ll be gone. Poof!” I say. Who will help me if I have an emergency? Like changing a light bulb or have a serious question or something? WHO?
“Baby, stop being so dramatic. I'm only going to be gone less than two days. You'll be fine” he says with a laugh. Call me dramatic all you want but it's totally true.
“I guess” I say, not exactly in belief. What really could go wrong in two days? Never mind. DON’T answer that.
“It'll be okay. Unless you somehow get into trouble; which is a strong possibility. If that's the case, then just call me. Okay, angel?” Eric asks, kissing my cheek.
“Okay” I begrudgingly agree. Watch this be the time when my ass gets into trouble and he won't even be here to save it. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that. Knock. Knock. Knock.
“Are you planning on driving?” I ask him, a plan forming in my head. This actually might work in my favor.
“No. I'm riding with Adrian” He answers. This is perfect!
“Since you'll be gone, can I please use your car? Please!” I ask with my puppy dog eyes that only works half the time; especially not when I'm trying to get out of a spanking. Eric rolls his eyes.
“I don't know babe…” he says unsure. Eric is fiercely protective of his BMW. Probably almost as protective he is about me. He rarely lets me drive it because he obviously doesn't trust my driving skills. Rude, I know.
“Please? Please. Please. Please. Pleeeease!” I say between kissing his neck hoping to persuade Eric. If all else fails, use affection to maybe win him over.
“Fine! You can use my car, but DON’T go crazy in it” he warns me. Me? Go crazy? Why I would never! I squeal happily.
“I won't. I promise” I swear to him. Cross my heart and hope to… I'm not finishing that sentence. Don't need to jinx myself or anything.
“Okay but you better be careful with it. Seriously baby” he says, probably already regretting saying yes to me. But who can say not to my kisses? Heehee.
“I will. I will” I say, rolling my eyes at his words. Sheesh, it's not like I'm going to purposely crash his car or something.
“Now let's finish watching the movie so we can find out who the killer is” I tell him, paying attention to the screen again. I'm betting that it's the woman’s jealous coworker. He totally wants her for himself.
“Alright baby” Eric agrees, pulling my body closer to his.

Friday Afternoon:
“Do you want to go to a few stores tomorrow?” I ask as I jump onto my bed. We both just got back from lunch after our classes. We both have class on Fridays, which totally sucks. No three-day weekend for us. Ugh.
“Duh. Let's get our nails done too. My toes need to be redone badly. The nail polish is chipping everywhere” Lily says wiggling her toes to emphasize her point. Man, they really do need to be redone. I'm surprises she’s wearing sandals out in public.
“Fine with me. Guess what?” I ask her as I start to take my jeans off. It's officially the weekend. It's comfort from here on out. Oh and that means I'm wearing leggings or yoga pants. I'm not going to go around pant less; just in case anyone thought that just then.
“What?” Lily asks, opening up her laptop. She's probably going to start her homework. She likes to get ahead in her classes; A total overachiever.
“We get to drive in Eric’s car this weekend” I tell her with a grin. I honestly can't believe he is leaving me alone with his car. It's shocking, I tell you.
“What! No way. Eric’s letting you drive his car?” She asks, surprised. See, it really is shocking. Like the world will collapse or something.
“Yup. Since he isn't going to be here, I begged him to let me use it” I say to her. Eric still isn't one hundred percent sure about it though. But no take backs!
“Wow. I can't believe you convinced him to say yes. I'm not sure I would have done it if I were him” Lily says, shaking her head. I'm really feeling the love here.
“I'm not some kind of road terror. I'll follow all of the laws perfectly like my life depends on it” I tell her. Or more like my butt depends on it. I don't even want to know what’ll happen to it if I do something to his car.
“You better. But it'll be fun to ride in it” she says, getting excited.
“For sure” I agree as I get off the bed to put on some pants. I notice that my phone lights up on my dresser where it's charging. Yeah, so my classes are completely blow off on Fridays. The majority of the class doesn't even show up and those that do aren't paying attention to the professor drone on. I'm usually on my phone so the battery is low by the time I'm done for the day. Thank goodness Eric isn't aware of that little bit of info. I see that I have a text message from Eric.
So are you coming over to say goodbye - Eric
You're leaving already??? I thought it was later =( - Me
Not yet. Like in an hour or two. But I want to see you before I leave - Eric
Ok, I'm coming!! After all, I can't forget to get your keys. ;) - Me
Yeah, I’d hate for you to forget those
- Eric
Love you! - Me
Don't you just love his sarcasm sometimes? I know Eric does not want to unleash his precious keys into my hands.
“Alright Lily. I'm leaving to say bye to Eric I'll see you later unless you’ll be with Felipe?” I say, unsure about her schedule for the night.
“I'll probably be with Felipe when you get back. But I'll be back later tonight” she tells me. I wish I could say that I'm doing the same but nope. I finish changing my clothes and grab my purse before heading to Eric’s room.

“I don't want you to go” I say as I wrap my arms tighter around Eric.
“I know baby girl. You'll be okay for two days” Eric says, kissing the top of my head.
“Maybe, but what if something happens?” I ask. Because let's face it, there is a very strong possibility of happening with me.
“Then you call me, alright?” He says, giving me a gentle squeeze.
“Okay, can I have your keys now?” I ask, leaning back to look at him with a cheeky grin.
“Geeze. You really can't wait to get your hand on my car, huh?” Eric asks. Duh. Now gimmie.
“Yes!” I tell him.
“Okay” Eric say with a bit of a laugh as he reaches into his pocket to retrieve the coveted keys.
“But seriously baby. Treat it with care” He says, still holding the keys. I try to grab hold of them but Eric puts his hand back.
“I will” I tell him. I'll treat his car with careful hands.
“Drive carefully and don't speed. You know, you get distracted easily; especially while driving” Eric reminds me. Yeah, we've had a few “discussions” about my driving habits. It's not my fault things grab my attention.
“I know but I'll pay extra attention while driving. I'll read your car like I treat my shoe collection, I swear. Don't worry” I try to pacify his worry.
“I'll try not to worry too much about my girl OR my car while I'm gone” he says. He never stops worry for obvious reasons.
“Nothing will happen” I say going on my tippy toes to give him a kiss in the lips.
“Hope not. Stay out of any trouble” Eric tells me and smacks my butt hard. Ow! Point taken, sheesh.
“I will” I say, rolling my eyes. He acts like I intentionally find myself in unfortunate predicaments. Well, sometimes I do but not always.
“Okay, I got to go and meet Adrian. He's persistent about leaving right at 4:30 and not a second later” Eric says, rolling his eyes about his friends. I'm not surprised Adrian is such a hard ass about the time. He’s kinda particular about some things. Okay more like a lot of things that I find a bit ridiculous. But he's Eric's friend; not mine.
“Okay. Keys” I say, holding my hand out.
“Alright, here. Be careful with it please. I love you angel. I'll text you to let you know that we made it, okay?” He tells me as he FINALLY gives me his keys and gives me one last hug.
“I will! And I love you too. Now leave so I can drive your car” I say, kissing his cheek and pushing him towards his door. Now that his car is officially in my hands, it is time to cruise through the streets in style. At a reasonable speed, of course. Heehee.

The Next Morning:
“Cori, do you want to get food after this?” Lily asks as the nail clerk is finishing painting her toes. I got mine painted in a light blue color if anyone was wondering.
“Yes? I’m starving. Do you want to hit our usual place or try something different this time?” I ask as I turn the page on the magazine I was reading. Apparently bell-bottoms are trying to make a comeback. Lets just leave that trend in the past, please.
“Our usual” Lily responds as her feet are getting the finishing touches. We have been shopping most of the morning before deciding to go to the nail salon. I found the perfect pair of jean shorts that can go together with so much. I didn't even want to take them off after I tried them on. But I don't think it's allowed to scan purchases that you're wearing. That might be a little awkward to explain to the cashier. Hi, could you scan my butt please? Yeah, no. Me and lily finish up at the salon before heading out. Oh and by the way, I have NOT done anything to Eric’s car. So ha! I'm not that bad of a driver.
“You know, I’m going to miss riding in Eric’s car. It's so nice and clean” Lily says as we get into the said vehicle. So maybe I should clean my own car out more often. It's really messy. Story of my life, no lie.
“And fast! It's so easy to speed in this thing” I say, turning it on.
“yeah, which you're NOT going to do” Lily tells me with her stern look. I roll my eyes.
“Yeah, yeah, follow the speeding limit; especially since it's raining” I say, brushing off her comment. But where's the fun in that?
“Are you planning on going to Monica’s birthday party?” she asks me. Moni is one of our mutual friends who wants to celebrate her party at a restaurant and then go to a painting place afterwards.
“Yeah. oh shit! I keep forgetting to buy her a present. Did you buy her one already?” I ask, turning onto a busy street to Gloria's cafe.
“I ordered her a turquoise journal since she likes to write. Also I ordered the cutest clutch that I found on some indie store. It totally fits her style” lily tells me. Ugh. she is always on top of gifts for people. I'm so jealous of her special gift giving abilities.
“Let me see a picture of it” I ask, fishing my phone out of my purse at a red light.
“Okay. let me find it. I was debating between two colors and I’m still undecided which one she’ll like” she says, looking through the pictures on her phone. I notice that I have a few notifications from my various social media accounts and quickly check it before the stupid light changes to green. It never changes when I’m just sitting there doing nothing but when I’m on my phone, it changes instantly. What is up with that? So annoying.
“Speaking of Moni, did you see her latest statues complaining about what her had professor said in class?” I ask, swiping up on my screen before I notice that the light has changed so I can go.
“Yeah. I had smith last semester and he totally sucks. He cannot teach to save his life” lily scoffs. She bitched about him practically the whole semester. I’m replying to a comment on one of my recent pictures. I Know I’m technically not supposed to be doing this right now but I’m going super slow due to the rain and I’m constantly looking up. I got this!
“Okay, so I ordered Moni the light green clutch but I’m thinking that she might like the blue one better” she tells me.
“Show me” I say, looking over to her phone
“Not when you're driving!” Lily says, holding her phone away. I roll my eyes.
“Just quickly show me your phone to let me see. It's fine. I'm not even going fast” I tell her. If she would just let me glance it'll be done with faster. Lily gives me her stern look again.
“Please!” I ask, giving her a pleading look. I was so interested in the pictures that I wasn't exactly paying complete attention to the road. You can probably figure out what happens next… so I’m sort of swerving just a tad a and get too close to the curb. And by too close, I really mean hit it hard and pretty much drive onto it. A loud noise is hear.
“Oh. my. god” I manage to get out. Please, please, please, let there not be any damage.
“What the hell did you just do?” Lily asks loudly in panic.
“I don't know” I tell her, while pulling over to inspect the hopefully nonexistent damage.
“See! This is exactly why I didn't want to show you my phone. It could lead to this” she exclaims throwing her hands up. Tell me something I don't know Lily. I’m well aware of what I did just now, so don't rub it in. I hurry out of the car to see for myself in the pouring rain, might I add. It’s that serious right now. I instantly notice a large scratch at the bottom near the front of the car. Well I’m officially done for. I damaged Eric’s baby. He’s going to be so pissed at me. What if he decides to break up with me over this? Ugh. this is just great.
“Well, did anything happen to Eric’s car?” Lily asks, when I get back in.
“Yeah, there is a huge scratch on the side. Like huge! And it's noticeable too so it's not like I can hide it easily. Eric’s going to kill me” I say, slouching down in the front seat. And to think that I actually thought that I got this. Ha! I jinxed myself, damn it.
“Well you did damage his car. A car that he takes great care of” she reminds me, making me feel guiltier.
“I know. I can't believe I wasn't paying attention. He even warned me not to do that. What if Eric dumps me now?” I ask with dread. After I promise that nothing would happen, I go and do this.
“Oh stop it. He’s not going to dump you. Even though you messed up badly. It's like someone using one of your high heels and the heel breaks off and they try to give it back to you. Like that level messed up” Lily tells me. I would be sooo pissed if someone did that to one of my babies. So I know that Eric isn't going to be happy.
“Okay, I get it Lily. the award for the worst girlfriend goes to me. Now I have to figure out how to fix it before Eric see it” I say, starting to come up with a plan. if I can somehow fix the scratch before Eric finds out then I can skip out on him being mad at me. Hmm…
“Fix it? So you're not going to tell him about it? And how exactly are you going to “fix” it in a day?” She asks, with a raised eyebrow. I roll my eyes.
“Lils, you know I have my ways. Now let's go eat while I come up with some sort of plan” I tell her as I start to drive to the cafe; very, very carefully this time. I'll be slower than a grandma this time.

That Evening:
“Okay, so you’ll be willing to do it for four hundred dollars?” I ask over the phone.
“Yup. I'll be able to get that scratch out easily. No problem” Hector tells me.
“Great! Would you be able to do it within twenty four hours?” I ask, crossing my fingers. Please say yes.
“Sure. If you can get your hands on four hundred dollars in cash, I can do it” he says. Ugh. Of course there is a glitch somehow.
“Only cash? Because I'm not sure I can get that much within that time frame” I tell him honestly.
“Only cash. If you can't get it by tomorrow, I'll still be open to doing it during the week. Just let me know what works for you” Hector says.
“Okay thanks” I say, before ending our call. Yes! The good news is that I found someone to fix Eric’s car. The bad news is that I need to find four hundred dollars in cash, ASAP. I hurry back into my room to tell Lily the good news.
“Guess what, Lils? I figured it out” I tell her as soon as I open the door.
“You found someone to fix Eric’s car?” She asks, looking surprised that I managed to in such short notice.
“Mhmm. I asked Leslie about who fixed her car a month again and she told me to get to touch with her friend’s cousin’s boyfriend’s roommate who works on cars in his spare time. So I did and he agreed to fix the scratch” I say, sitting down at my desk.
“Really? Is he even an actual mechanic?” She asks. I roll my eyes.
“I don't know Lily. I don't have time to look at people's credentials. I just need someone to make that scratch disappear before Eric sees it. There is a slight problem though” I say avoiding her eyes. Her stern face is about to happen.
“What?” Lily asks, afraid of my answer.
“I need to come up with four hundred dollars in cash by tomorrow. I'm already at my limit for the week on my credit card. My dad would be so pissed if I go over my limit one more time.” I say, as I slump back in my chair. Why do I put myself into these situations? My butt would really like to know.
“Or maybe you should just tell Eric since I don't know how you're doing to get that much money overnight” she tells me. I look at her like she is crazy.
“And have my ass burned several degrees? No thanks. Just let me think for a second” I say, looking around our room to try to come up with an idea. Hmm… how can I make a quick buck that's legal; especially legal. I notice a pile of my clothes on the end of my bed and see a shirt laying on top.
“Hey, do you want to buy that shirt you always loved and constantly borrow from me?” I ask Lily, looking at it. It's a light purple shirt with a pretty pattern on it.
“How is me going to buy one shirt going to help you reach four hundreds bucks?” Lily asks. Good point. But it can be a start, right? Unless I got more than one person to buy something from me.
“Besides, it's your shirt. I can't take it from you. It's yours” Lily tells me. I start to grin. Yeah, but not for long.
“I'll be right back” I tell her as I quickly stand up and head to the door. I'm on a mission now. A mission to save Eric’s car AND my behind.
“Where are you going now?” she asks me, confused about my sudden departure.
“To talk to someone” I say, shutting the door behind me. I hurry and walk down a flight of stairs to the floor below us. I get to the door that I'm looking for and knock. It eventually opens up to reveal Debra. You know, then busy body of the dorm hall.
“Hey Cori” she greets me with a surprised look. We're really not friends so it's little weird that I'm here.
“Hey. So listen, I need you to spread the word that I'm doing some major spring-cleaning and I'm selling a lot of my clothes and shoes. Let people know to bring cash only and they can start to come by tonight or tomorrow. Okay?” I ask, relying my message to her. If someone is going to pass it along, it's Debra. I could have just posted it online somewhere about it but I can't risk Eric seeing it also. So Debra is the next best thing.
“Really? Okay, I'll let people know. I guess I'll be seeing you in a little while” she says. Hopefully you and a ton of others. It's all part of my plan.

Later that Evening:
“How much for this shirt?” A girl asks, holding up a blue top. That looked perfect with the black jeans that I just gave away two minutes ago.
“Seven dollars” I tell her and watch as her eyes light up happily then she's hands me the money for it.
“How much for these?” Shelby, the weird girl, asks holding up a pair of white wedges sandals. Ugh. One of my favorites and I have to give them to her? Keep yourself together Cori.
“Twelve dollars” I tell her flatly, hoping she wouldn't buy them but of course she did. They wouldn't even look good on her anyway.
“I'll take them and these two shirts” Shelby tells me, holding them in her hands. My babies are leaving me! Call me dramatic all you want, but my heart is seriously breaking right now.
“That’ll be twenty-six dollars total” I say through gritted teeth as she hands over the money.
“It's really nice of you to sell some of your clothes. Now I can look just as good as you now” Shelby says with a grin. I roll my eyes a bit at her words. Well now everyone is going to look good except me. I'll have to survive with only a few clothes if I can sell everything. Hmmm, maybe I'll “borrow” a few of Eric’s shirts until I can buy more clothes.
“Your welcome” I say with a sigh as I look around my room filled with people rummaging through my stuff; including Lily.
“Um, Lily. I thought you weren't going to buy anything from me because ‘it's mine’?” I quote her. Lily is currently looking through the clothes I laid out right along with everyone else.
“I just figured I can give to your ‘cause’ and help you out a little. Plus I wanted to get your black sequined jacket before someone else does. You can borrow it whenever you want” she tells me. I roll my eyes again.
“Well, you're not getting a friend discount so be prepared” I tell her, sitting back on my bed. As much as it's killing me to give my clothes away, it'll be worth it if I get enough money to fix Eric’s car. Why oh why did I want to drive it so badly again? So not worth all this trouble. Another girl comes up to buy something when I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. It's Eric.
Hey baby. Just checking in to see how you're doing? - Eric.
I'm fine - Me
Wait...that's too straight to the point. That so not me.
I'm doing okay. I miss you though- Me
I miss you too. But I'll be back tomorrow - Eric
What time will you be back? - Me
I'm asking mostly to see how much time I have to save my butt.
Around 4. You're taking good care of my car, right? - Eric
Good, good care of it. Don't worry!!! - Me
Well that’s an obvious LIE! I'm a terrible car babysitter.
Good to hear. I'll let you go. I love you baby- Eric
I love you too - Me
Hopefully he'll still love my as much if he finds out about his car.

Sunday Afternoon:
“Hey!” I say, as soon as Eric opens the door and I jump on him for a hug. Even though it may not seem like a long time away from each other, it was long enough for me; especially for our cuddles.
“Hey baby. I missed you” he says, wrapping his arms round me tightly.
“I missed you too” I tell him as I kiss his lips happily.
“How is it that we miss each other like crazy after two days? And to think we were long distant for a year” Eric says, grinning. That's a good question.
“Yeah. How did we survive that?” I ask him in wonder.
“I don't know. So did you have a good weekend?” He asks me as he pulls me toward his bed to sit down.
“It was good. Lily and I did some shopping and I pretty much laid around after that” I tell him smoothly. The only reason I lied so easily is because I practiced it dozens of times out loud before coming here. Trust me, I can't risk getting caught in a lie today. If you want an update on the money situation, I managed to sell the majority of my clothes and shoes for about three hundred dollars. Yes, I really did have that much stuff to sell. The few things that are left is pretty much school logo shirts and everyone has a bunch of those already. Guess who will be showing a lot of school pride for a while? Me! Ugh. Since I'm still a hundred dollars short, I have to keep Eric away from his car for a few days until I can.
“Oh and here are your precious keys back” I say, tossing them at him. Get those things far, far away from me. I never, ever want to touch those thugs again.
“So nothing happened?” Eric asks me. Something happened to it alright. Something I would rather you not see, Eric.
“Nope, nothing happened” I tell him, kissing his cheek. I also practiced that line a bunch as well. I came prepared today.
“Thanks for taking care of it, baby. Do you want to go out to eat for dinner tonight?” He asked, getting up to put his keys on his dresser. My eyes widen. I didn't prepare for that question. As much as I want to go eat out somewhere instead of the crappy dining hall, there is no way I'll be able to face Eric the whole time; literally. What if he starts asking me more questions about this weekend and catches me in a lie? My clothes sale would have been useless.
“No! Let's just order something to be delivered her instead” I say, hoping he'll say yes. I can maybe get away with lying if Eric is not directly looking at my face. At this point, it's worth a shot.
“Plus, I need your help with my pre-calc homework too. Its due soon” I quickly add. It's actually is due in a couple of days but I did not want to spend Sunday night working on it. But hey, desperate times calls for desperate measures.
“That's fine with me, angel” Eric agrees as he leans down to kiss the top of my head. Phew. Hopefully I can survive the rest of the night.

Monday Afternoon:
Well, I survived last night. I didn't seem to make Eric suspicious or anything but we mostly talked about what he did for the weekend instead of me. There are such things as miracles. Also a few people messaged me asking if I was still selling anything and want to stop by tonight. So if I can sell some more today, I think I can manage to get fifty dollars from my own bankcard. So I think my plan will actually pull through this time. Happy dance time!
“Did you read the link I sent to you?” I ask Eric as he opens the door to them entrance of my dorm hall. We're currently stopping by my room to get my laptop and purse before heading to his room.
“I did. Everything was cute and all but babe, don't you think this unicorn craze is getting a little over the top?” He asks as we walk down the hallway.
“No way! Did you see how cute the unicorn mug was? I totally want it” I tell him, getting my key out to unlock my door.
“If you say so” Eric says with a grin and a shake of his head.
“Let me fix my make up really quick. It was so freaking hot in the math building. I don't think the air was on for some reason” I say, dropping my book bag onto my bed and heading to my desk where all of my beauty supplies are at. I use my desk more for my beauty regime instead of actually hitting the books. Go figure.
“The science building was kind of warm too. I don't think they have turned on the cool air on yet since it's just now getting hot outside” Eric says, laying down on my bed with his phone
“Well they better hurry up with that. I'm tired of sweating in class” I say, redoing my eyeliner. I continue to touch up my face when there is a knock on my door.
“Eric, would you get that for me?” I ask him.
“Yeah” he answers, getting up and opening it. I quickly glance to see a girl who I've never seen before standing there. What does she want?
“Hi, I was wondering if Cori is here?” She asks with a smile at Eric.
“She's here” Eric says, opening the door wider to let her see me. I look up from my mirror to see what she is here for. Can't she see that I'm a little busy here?
“Hey, I was wondering if your sale was still going on?” She asks, looking into the room to see if there were any clothes left. My eyes widen. Uh oh…
“Sale?” Eric asks, looking confused at her. I high tail it out of my chair and hurry to the door. I practically shove Eric out of the doorway.
“There is no sale. I don't know where she got that from. Let me find out really quick” I quickly say to Eric as I step out and close the door behind me.
“Sorry, I don't know why you thought there was a sale. Someone must have told you the wrong person” I say a bit loudly, hoping Eric would hear me. I'm trying to save myself here.
“Okay listen, I’m still selling my clothes but you have to come by at five. No sooner or later, got it?” I ask in a hushed voice. Oh the sale is definitely still on but Eric does not need to know that. She nods her head quickly.
“Now go. Tell others about the time if you want” I add still whispering. She nods her head again and then hurries off. Now to face Eric. Hopefully he isn't too suspicious. But it's my boyfriend we’re talking about so he probably is. Ugh. I walk back into my room and face him. Yup. He for sure thinks something is up. Think of something fast, Cori. Or just stall.
“What was all that about?” He asks. oh, I’m just giving away my clothes to fix you Cori. No big deal.
“I don't know. She must have heard something wrong” I say with a shrub. I sit down at my desk again.
“What did she mean about a sale?” He asks me next.
“I don't know. Maybe she confused me with someone else” I play dumb. I try to finish up my makeup.
“Cori, stop playing. Tell me what's going on” Eric says as he takes my hand and pulls me to face him. This is it. I'm finished. My butt is about to be toast. Okay, proceed slow and gentle, Cori.
“Eric, I damaged your car” I blurt out. Why do I always do that? Nice and slow NEVER happens.
“What? What are you talking about?” He asks, more confused now than ever.
“This weekend, when I was driving your car I accidentally scratched it really badly” I tell him in one breath.
“Where is it scratched at?” Eric asks.
“At the front near the side” I continue to tell him.
“Why didn't you tell me?” Eric says. Um, is he stupid?
“Because I knew you’d be pissed at me and I tried to make up for it by getting it fixed before you noticed. I just didn't have enough money to get it fixed yet” I say. The one time I'm not able to buy something.
“That's why I had to sell some of my things to get more money as soon as possible” I tell him as I plop down on my bed onto my stomach
“What kind of things?” Eric asks as he sits down next to me.
“My clothes and shoes. Pretty much everything is gone. You can go check it yourself” I say, pointing to my drawers and closet area. All of my most prized possessions are gone. Well, not ALL of them. Did you notice that I didn't include my purses in that? You'll have to drag them out of cold, dead hands but that's beside the point right now.
“You sold your clothes to try to fix my car?” He asks with a small grin. yes Eric, I just explained that two seconds ago. Get with the program. I nod my head.
“I felt really bad about scratching it and I needed to make it up to you and I didn't want you to hate me. Like I ruined something that was important to you. I'm sorry” I say, sadly. Well it's out in the open. Time to face my doom.
“Come here, baby” Eric says, pulling me onto his lap. Wait, no mention of a spanking yet?
“First of all, I could never hate you. So get that out of your head. And I honestly can't believe you would go to the lengths of selling your things for me. It means a lot angel” Eric tells me, kissing my temple.
“So you're not mad?” I ask, looking at him confused. I'd thought he'd be angry about his car. I would if someone ruined one of my shoes. Well shoes I used to have anyways.
“I mean, I wish it didn't happen obviously but I'm not super mad or anything like that” he says. And here I was worried over nothing.
“I'm really sorry Eric” I say still feeling guilty and I never usually feel guilty.
“I know but how exactly did you scratch it?” He asks. Okay scratch that. I definitely should be worried now.
“Well it was raining outside when I was driving and I wasn't really paying attention to the road” I tell him playing with my fingers.
“And why is that? What were you doing?” Eric asks with pointed look. Now I'm really screwed.
“I was kind of on my phone and trying to see Lily’s” I say. By the way, she did finally show my the picture of the clutches and they were really cute.
“Cori, I told you not to drive recklessly like that; especially since you have a habit of doing so already” he begins to lecture me.
“What if you got worse than a scratch? What if you collided into another car or something because you were too busy looking at your phone?” Eric asks. Man, I guess I really did get lucky with just a scratch, huh? I don't know how I'd be able to hide a smashed hood or bumper.
“I know. I just can't help myself sometimes” I admit. It's like my phone is an addiction that I can't give up.
“Well, let me help you remember to not drive with your phone in hand” Eric says. My butt isn't ready for what's to come. He helps me up and stands me between his legs to pull down my pants. I am then pulled over his lap as he gets my bottom situated. You know, into the prime spanking zone.
“You ready, baby girl?” Eric asks, patting my upturned cheeks gently. Hell no!
“I guess so” I say, facing my approaching fate as I feel Eric raise his hand into the air.

Eric’s POV:
I bring my hand down hard on Cori’s right cheek and begin a solid rhythm of smacks.
smack smack smack smack smack
I placed alternate spanks on her upper thighs and give special attention to her sit spots. Hopefully that will get her attention rather quickly.

“Ow. Eric! I'm sorry. Ah!” Cori cries out as she begins to wiggle in place as her bottom starts to warm under my hand.

“Why smack are smack you smack getting smack spanked smack right smack now?” I ask without stopping a beat
“Because I scratched your car” she squeaks out in pain. That's what it may seem like. It actually isn't true.
“Not smack quite. Try smack again, angel smack smack” I tell her as I pause the spanking to pull her panties down to reveal her bare bottom. I can tell that Cori is pouting at this change.

“Ah! Is it because I was on my phone and not paying attention to my surroundings? Owe!” She asks me as I begin again but with harder spanks this time.
“What smack do smack you smack think SMACK SMACK?” I ask her, placing two extra hard smacks to her sit spots. I'm trying to get her to learn her lesson here.
“Ow! I think that's why!” Cori tells me, lightly kicking her feet onto the floor.
“Right. I'm not spanking you because you scratched my car. Honestly at the end of the day, it's just a car and you didn't mean to do it. What I am spanking you for is being careless behind the wheel. It's a car baby. You could have gotten into a much worse scenario” I tell her, resting my hand on top of her inflamed cheeks. I don't even want to think about what the worse case scenario could have been. It goes back to my constant worry about Cori. She just seems to attract trouble wherever she goes.
“I know and I'm sorry. I'll pay more attention when I drive now” she says wiping the tears now falling from her face. I hate to make her cry like this but she has to learn somehow.
“Hopefully you do because if we have to get to this point again, the hairbrush will be used” I warn her, hoping that my threat will keep her from doing this again. But it's Cori, so who knows.
“I won't” she sniffles out to me. We'll see.
“Good. Let's finish up here and then I'll hold you “ I tell her, raising my hand to start again. The faster I get this over with, the sooner she'll be in my arms.

I make sure to spank every inch of her bottom to get my displeasure across. By this time, Cori is sobbing into the bed and trying to move away from the falling smacks.
“Eric, please! I'm sorry!” She sobs out as I tighten my hand around her waist. Her cries make my heart hurt. Spanking her isn't fun for me either.

I give her a dozen more lighter snacks before completely ending her spanking. Cori is crying limp over my lap as I softly pull her panties back over her sore cheeks.
“I'm all finished, my sweet girl. Come here” I tell her as I help her stand up and sit her down on my lap. I wrap her up in my arms into a loving hold as I begin to comfort my crying baby.

Cori’s POV:
“Shhh. It's okay angel. Shhh. I've got you.  Let it out. Shhhh. I love you so much shhh” Eric tells me as he rocks me in his arms as I sob into his chest. I continue until I've calmed down enough with a few tears m escaping my eyes.
“I really am sorry for scratching your car. I tried to make up for it but I didn't have enough cash” I tell him as I lean back to look at him. Eric brushes the last of my tears away and kisses my nose.
“It's okay. I know you didn't intentionally do it. And I'm still kind of shocked that you would sell most of your clothes to be able to afford to fix it” he tells me with a smile. You and me both are about that.
“So how much did you need to fix it and who was going to do it?” Eric asks me. What was that guy’s name? Victor? Spencer? I know it was something with an -or in it. I should probably figure his name out before I contact him.
“One of my friends had someone fix her car that she dented and he wanted four hundred dollars in cash only. I was already at my limit on my car so I needed more money. I got three hundred dollars at my sale and I can probably get the rest in a few days” I say, hoping more people will come by today.
“Don't worry about paying for it baby” he says. Say what now?
“You don't want me to fix your car?” I ask confused. Eric shakes his head no.
“I can probably buff the scratch out myself depending on where it's at. If not, I can get it done somewhere a whole lot cheaper. Why don't you spend the money that you have on some new clothes?” He suggests, kissing my forehead. I start to grin. Is he legit? He better not be playing with my about my shopping emotions.
“Really?” I ask, getting happy again.
“Really, sweetness” he tells me, kissing my forehead. Yes!
“Thank you so much, Eric!” I exclaim excitedly as I wrap my arms around his neck in a tight hug.
“I was going to have to borrow some of your shirts to hold me over until I could get more clothes” I say go him as I kiss his cheek.
“Borrow? You mean steal because I never see some of my shirts again” Eric says with a laugh. That actually is true. In fact, I'm pretty sure I sold a few of his shirts yesterday now that I think about it. I hope he doesn't ask about those. Oops.
“Okay borrow might not have been the best word but you knew what I meant” I tell him giving him a quick kiss on the lips. Eric rolls his eyes.
“Sure I do. Grab your stuff so we can go to my room. Nap time for you angel” he tells me, helping me stand up and patting my extremely sore butt to get me going. I kick off my pants around my ankles and grab a pair of leggings that I actually have left out of a drawer. I guess the plus side to all of this is that I get to go on a mini-shopping spree to buy new wardrobe. Can't really complain about that. I grab my laptop and purse as I head to the door with Eric behind me.
“Eric, I guess one good thing did come out from all of this” I say opening the door.
“What's that?” He asks, grabbing a hold of the door to let me out first.
“I'm never, ever, ever driving your car again. Ever!” I tell him. I'm sitting in the passenger seat from now on. Not worth a the pain in my butt or selling my clothes, thank you very much. Eric chuckles.
“Good to know baby. Good to know”
